"All Balloons" Out March 31st
- Glenn :-)
Kristian Leontiou Exclusive!
"I was lucky enough to see Kris at the gig on Sunday night (coming down the stairs!) and me and my sis had a chat with him...the latest news is that he was telling us that he has been approached by a few record companies wanting to offer him (One eskimO) a record deal - his not sure though at the moment because he said his done that all before, as you know as a solo artist with Polydor - he doesn't want to give full control over to a record company, which reading between the lines was a factor in him leaving Polydor and his solo career.
He also said that they were doing really well at the moment without a record deal and has plans to go round the country doing radio interviews and live performances.
Also he mentioned he had been working on new material with a group called 'Dusted'! The group 'Dusted' are in his top friends list on the One eskimO MySpace page, worth a look...although the tracks he has worked with them aren't on the Dusted page yet."
Thanks to Paul and Kristian for the info!
News, News, News.
I've got alot of exciting news for you guys, so I'm just going to give you the rundown. All of this news is courtesy of the ever-brilliant Paul. In fact, it's getting ridiculous- I should set him up with admin rights to the blog so he can tell you some of this stuff himself! I'll see what he thinks about that.
The most exciting bit of news is that we now know the date of One EskimO's debut album. It's called "All Balloons" and is due out March 31st 2008. The news came from this excellent article about the band. The article contains a lot of new details about the band that I will add to the bio shortly.
The second bit of news is that One EskimO have added another gig in Janurary to their up coming performances. I'll be sure to include that on the website too.
Oh, speaking of the website, there's one little addition. See that funky letter symbol at the bottom of each post? You can use that to email articles to your friends if you like. :-)
Hope you're all having a nice winter!

Site Update!
I thought I should really post and talk about the site a little. As you can see, it's a pretty basic blog right now, but I just thought it'd be nice to have a place where fans can show support for the band!
Within the next few days, I'll set us up a forum so we can talk about the band. As far as I know, there's nowhere else like that yet. It'd be great to have some community threads going, but my main worry is that nobody's going to be around to see it! So if you're a fan, please bookmark the site, and tell anyone who likes One EskimO about it. I feel bad going on about my own blog to people, so I'm totally dependant on you guys to spread the word.
I realized the other day that people couldn't comment on my posts without getting a google account, which seemed like a pain... so I've removed that so now anyone can post a comment without having to sign up. So pleeeease feel free! Then I'll know that somebody's reading!
My last point is the name of the site: "One EskimO Fansite". Hardly inspiring! If you have a better name, please suggest it in the comments section below!
Take care you guys!

Hometime Single Released!
About One EskimO
One EskimO are a new animated group, in the style of British pop group Gorillaz. The animated band consists of One EskimO, Giraffe, Penguin and Monkey. Not much has been publicly released about their real life band members, but it is a well known fact that One EskimO's lead singer is the popular ex-solo artist Kristian Leontiou. We also have heard that Adam Falkner is the drumming Giraffe, Pete Rinaldi is the guitar playing Penguin (although it was originally Martin Waugh, who later decided to play with Mika) and Jamie Sefton is the bass and horn wizard of a Monkey.
Further information about how the band came about can be found in this article.
So far the group has one single released, "Hometime" including the B-Side "Chosen One (skinny mix)". Other songs as seen on One EskimO's myspace include "Kandi", "Astronauts" and "Amazing". On their Bebo page you can also listen to "Chocolate". Although technically one of their first songs was "Hope & Glory" a collaboration with the legendary Electronic group Faithless (One EskimO is co-produced by Faithless' Rollo and Kristian himself) and can be found on the album "To All New Arrivals".
Their debut album "All Balloons" is set to be released on March 31st 2008.
The song "Hometime" has enjoyed success because of it's recent inclusion in a new advert for Toyota, demonstrating the company's respect for nature.
One EskimO also have their own animated video to "Hometime" which can be seen here. The Video was animated and directed by Smuggling Peanuts.
As for the animated band members themselves, One EskimO have released a statement explaining the fiction behind them.
"The little eskimO wondered and wondered, in fact he spent so much time wondering. When he wasn't wondering he was thinking up stories, and singing along with tunes that lived in his head. You see the little eskimO loved nothing more than just to sing. Now, every night shortly after the moOn came out and gazed down he would collect his stories and songs and walk away from the village, past the lake and towards the large snow hills. On arriving he would clamber onto his ark, and smile. Home, the ark was the only place the little eskimO felt comfort and belonging. It was here in his beautiful ark that he would figure out how to join the stories with the songs that floated around in his head.
Through the still of the night the sounds would wander across the lake, into the quiet corners of the land. enchanted by the beautiful sound, three very curious animals decided to be brave and follow the noise. First to head towards the sounds was a giraffe. The giraffe's favourite thing in the whole world was to bang on stuff. So, not surprisingly that's what he did, mostly from the moment he opened his eyes to the moment before he drifted away to sleep. The little eskimO smiled at the giraffe as he joined in and added rhythm to the eskimO's songs.
Next to join the party was a monkey. ""I can play the bass and the horn,'' shrieked the monkey. Every note the monkey played was in perfect harmony with the little eskimO's heart. The eskimO, giraffe and monkey stopped playing as they listened to the most beautiful guitar sound that any of them had ever heard. Looking out over the ark they saw a penguin padding his way towards the ark strumming his guitar.
The little eskimO was so excited, that he and three new friends all began to play music and sing along to his stories.
After much singing, banging, strumming the guitar and honking the horn, the four friends stopped, looked up at the sky, stared at the moon, and wondered what lay beyond the shimmering stars that featured right on the tip of skyscape.
They decided that they would all head out and travel above the seas, past the moon and the planets and venture out through the stars. They would travel together on the eskimO's special ark. For this was no ordinary ark, this was a dream ark. On this they could go anywhere they wished, all they needed to do was to play their music and follow their dreams." - From the One EskimO Myspace
(Have you got more to add to this article? Please, please, pleeease comment :-) Any help or words of encouragement will be paid back to you in love! - One EskimO Fan)
